Eye Care Entitlement

Certain groups of patients are entitled to a free NHS sight test and optical vouchers to put to the cost of glasses or contact lenses. To claim your free sight test and vouchers at John Fell Opticians, just show proof of entitlement to one of our staff members and we’ll make sure you receive your sight test or appropriate voucher towards looking after your vision. If you are not eligible for the NHS scheme, you will have to pay privately for your sight test.

NHS Sight Test

If you are aged 60 or over, under 16 or a full time student aged 16, 17 or 18 then you qualify for a free NHS funded sight test. You may also claim for a free sight test if you receive particular income support or benefits, are registered blind or partially sighted or have particular eye health concerns such as diabetes or glaucoma. Full details of eligibility can be found at the below link.
